Chocolate and blueberries is an absolutely perfect combination! So moist and decadent, it’s like sinking your teeth into pillowy decadence. My son D’Angelo love’s chocolate, which is the reason I decided to bake this cake. Does that boy even realize what a blessed fella he is; for choosing me to be his mother?
I had chocolate balls that I received from a relative in Jamaica. We use them lots to make hot chocolate. When I was younger, I often observed my grandma preparing hot chocolate with coconut milk. No packaged box of chocolate can even come close to the authentic flavors in a cup of NATURAL hot chocolate. As I reminisced about the aroma from the hot chocolate that once permeated my home in Jamaica, I knew the unsweetened chocolate balls would be an excellent ingredient in my chocolate blueberry cake. I’m surprised myself. I grated it and combined it with the flour along with fresh blueberries and the additional ingredients.
I love the burst of juice and flavor from fresh fruits into my mouth and the blueberries released that sweet burst of flavor in every bite. It wasn’t long before the entire cake was all gone. Next time around, I may leave you a slice.
