Cactus Pear-Persimmon-Cucumber-Pear-Apple Juice

In an attempt to cure the bug that my son Robert had contracted, I decided to put the “S” on my chest and relieve him of his woes. As of lately I have been using and testing all natural remedies to bring relief to my family, while boosting their immunity. So far, every natural remedy that I have tried, actually works.

Thank God my family doesn’t suffer from any severe illnesses, or debilitating diseases. I have used natural remedies to fight an ear infection and strep throat,  without having to make any  trips the doctor or  to the emergency room. Talk about saving time and money!   D’Angelo, myself and my grandma pretty much eat whatever I cook, juice or prepare. On the other hand, my  son Robert thinks he is grown and isn’t quite as disciplined about his food choices. I’m still a work in progress, but he has a lot catching up to do. Whenever he is hungry, he would rather I wait on him hand and foot. If he doesn’t eat when we do, he would prefer if  I hand-deliver his food.  Now I don’t have time for that…at least not when I’m in my bed or engaged with another project. He would probably agree if  I volunteered to spoon feed him. Self sufficient he is, however he has no patience about share a serving of his own meal. Even if he is standing in the kitchen, directly over the pot, he still asks, “Mother could you please share my food?”  So spoiled! What can I say? It’s all my fault.

At any given time, Robert may be working on several different projects.  I watched him agonize for about 2 days. He would eat but as soon as he felt better, he would retreat to his busy routine. I’m busy with my projects as well, however I have mastered the art of balancing my time. Nothing gets in the way of me eating my food. Y’all know that already.

I couldn’t stand to see him suffer any longer, so I made several bottles of juices. I had to increase his vitamin C intake. I’m usually extremely proactive. If I happen to feel an itch in my throat, I take matters into my own hands and  “go hard” on my  fruits, vegetables and fruit juices. Healthy food choices fuels my body.  Viruses never seem to get the best of me, or any opportunity to take up residency in my Temple.  I just can not afford to be sick,  especially when  I’m capable and responsible for my overall health. Recently I have begun to eliminate sugar from my juices. The fruits add a natural sweetness to each drink. My taste buds are becoming familiar with the unsweetened flavors. If you prefer to add a sweetener, go ahead.

I decided to put Robert out of his misery by blending just about every fruit on my kitchen counter. I instructed him to just keep drinking.
Guess what? Within less than 24 hour he reported that he was feeling human again.
