Chicken Sausage with Sage and Thyme Breakfast

All natural chicken sausage with sage and thyme, sautéed with baby bella mushrooms, bell peppers, tomatoes and onions, scrambled eggs and fried plantains. Wow, that was a mouthful!  Actually my belly was full too….after eating this for breakfast.

As I journey along with my healthier concepts, I carefully select my foods and try my best to avoid ones that are chemically ladened. I love breakfast sausages and bacon, but now that I’m reading and paying much attention to the ingredients, I’m beginning to understand what NOT to put into my body.  Therefore the words ‘nitrate’ and ‘nitrite’ need not be listed on anything that I intend to eat. They are preservatives added to meats and I I’d rather NOT have to ingest or digest those chemicals. My Temple isn’t designed to digest them anyway.  It was a difficult decision, being that the foods without these additives tend to be more expensive and the quantity much smaller.  I had to focus on the fact that is indeed a healthier choice. Lord knows I don’t intend to be on any surgeons table any time soon or EVER. I’ve had enough of my fair share of surgeries.

So I opted for chicken sausage with sage and thyme. I love herbs, so this was perfect for me. These chicken links are loaded with flavor without the added preservatives. I really enjoyed my breakfast. No guilt at all. I’m still a work in progress. I have made long strides of which I’m extremely proud.
