The laws of attraction are indeed the laws of attraction. I’m an advocate for all things natural and find myself gravitating to everything in it’s natural state. For many years, I was misled and miseducated about healthy living. In many cases, I was consuming food like substances and not real, whole food, and was completely oblivious to what was really happening to our food. There’s so much more for me to learn. I’m still a work in progress.
Lately, I’ve noticed that wild caught shrimp has become pretty scarce everywhere. Even when I try to source them from seafood markets, they too only seem to carry farm raised shrimp. I was so excited to find a frozen package of wild caught shrimp WITHOUT preservatives, but just before I created this culinary delight , I noticed that they weren’t the usual extra large to jumbo size. The size didn’t stop it from playing it’s exemplary role in this mouth watering culinary delight.
The farmers’ market junkie in me wanted to include everything but the kitchen sink. My creative juices began to flow and succotash was born. If you ever want to have dinner in under thirty minutes, then seafood is your best choice. The most time consuming part of creating any culinary delight is the prepping (the washing, chopping, mise en place etc). The kitchen is my sanctuary. It’s where I do what I do best, therefore it really doesn’t feel like work. If it’s too much for you, simply ask another family member to lend a helping hand.
I used fresh herbs to create a herbed oil which I passionately drizzled with love over the lobster tails. Bland food does absolutely nothing for me. Five ingredient recipes do nothing for me. Do not cook me any food talking bout you only used 5 ingredients: You play too much! I will resort to such atrocities ONLY if I’m desperately hungry or have no other choice. Some folks love to cook with limited ingredients. That’s cool. It’s just not my thing. If you think you are a boss a five minute fixes that I will enjoy; bring it. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not condemning five ingredient fixes, my palate is very awake and extremely sophisticated. My palate yearns for added flavor; robust or subtle, savory or sweet, it needs to pack an orgasmic punch. I need to close my eyes and moan when I savor each bite and five ingredient fixes simply doesn’t invoke any emotion other than disappointment, leaving me waiting and wanting something more.
So, let’s toast to whole foods, herbs and spices, and roasting techniques to release and concentrate flavors. Let’s spend quality time and love preparing our food and really appreciate the fruits of our labor. Be blessed!
