I can envision myself eating raw foods permanently….seriously. I am already eating some veggies in their raw state and is developing such an appreciation. Recently I have become more educated about my food choices, their role and how they impact my overall health. Throughout my “dark ages” I had been duped and brainwashed by commercials and other advertising that sent a subliminal message, which enticed me to eat unhealthy foods. I thought I was really eating “good” because I have always had an abundance of food. I have no idea what it’s like to experience hunger. Praise God for that! You will probably hear me make this comment often: Even when I am temporarily out of cash, I ALWAYS have food.
I have always preferred to have a home cooked meal, rather than a burger at a fast food chain. It’s self explanatory. When I prepare my own food, I am aware of the ingredients.
Growing up, I wish that I had someone in my circle who was as fascinated about food as much as I am, or was somewhat health conscious. I always say it’s never to late to learn….but oh how I wish. I did have a few friends who at some point or another, were on some weight loss program, but all for the wrong reasons. It was either to fit into a cute little dress, or just for the sake of keeping up with the joneses. It wasn’t a lifestlye change. Weight was never an issue for me, so there wasn’t a connection there. I love my body and my thickness.
My fascination with food isn’t about to end anytime soon. I am ready to explore, and absorb as much information possible. Knowledge is becoming aware. I used to buy lots of canned goods. They are perishable and there was always a coupon for some foods that I had developed a love affair with. I would stock up on those items not realizing they were loaded with all kinds of chemicals that would wreak havoc on my sexy little body.
So with that being said…I have limited my processed foods and prescription medication (that have side effects where the risk outweighs the rewards). I LOVE FRESH FOODS FROM THE EARTH. I like the crunchy textures and the unique taste of most whole foods. I don’t overcook them, which retains the nutrients. Whatever doesn’t get cooked, gets blended into an amazing smoothie or juice. I don’t mind spending the extra time prepping and organizing my medicine cabinet because I know that I am doing my body good.
