Thanksgiving Day came and went like a boss! Where does the time go? I’ve been having way too much fun with my grandchild, Queen Califia, and is adjusting expeditiously to the new addition in our family. As usual, our table is blessed; adorned with herbs and all variety of earth foods. I am thrilled that my sanctuary continues to maintain the look and feel of a restaurant. Easy organization enhances creativity and inspiration, which results in effortless culinary delights,
This mac and cheese was so cheesy, creamy and herbaceous! Yes I add herbs to my mac and cheese and if you haven’t, now is an excellent time to begin. I should have taken the before and after photos but I had so much to do before my guest arrived. No one wanted to wait until the 5:30 dinner time as scheduled. They were already on their way to my house. I was in such a hurry to get everything on the table and conduct my usual photo shoot before everyone arrived, but these folks ain’t playing. They are impatient about my food and I receive that as loads of compliments. My hands are blessed and they look forward to each and every meal that I prepare. Even when they are out of town, they’re still asking about what’s on the menu, as if being informed makes a difference.
I managed to get a photo in. I would have been really disappointed if I didn’t. A few of the dishes that adorned my table was the super duper flavorful oxtails that I seasoned with my signature spice blends and braised in red wine. Thank God I had carved the turkey in advance. The other entrees remained in the kitchen because, no one wanted to wait.
Y’all should have been here to taste my moist and decadent Jamaican Rum Cake. OMG! It was da bomb! One whole cup of rum was added and it was divine! Usually I get drunk off rum cakes but not this time. My tolerance for liquor is far greater than I thought.
Next year, I’ll be much more prepared to feed these hungry California people! It was all love though. Our time spent together as a united family was priceless!
