Are you inviting cancer and other chronic illnesses into your life?
I’ve been asked “WHAT DO YOU USE ON YOUR SKIN? IT’S SO RADIANT!”
Allow me to introduce myself:
My name is Angeline and I’m an Angel…seriously. Those who know me since birth, call me Denise. I am a Jamaican, from Tivoli Gardens to be exact. I am the FACE behind all the fabulous dishes on this website. I am the AUTHOR of the cookbook “From My Taste Buds To Yours.” I am a cancer survivor. I’ve had bilateral mastectomy and I’m kicking endometriosis’ to the curb.
In the past, I’ve made many trips to the doctors. I’ve had several surgical procedures. The last one was to ‘cure’ the endometriosis that I was diagnosed with. The surgery didn’t work. I got very tired of all the doctor visits and the side effects from prescription drugs and decided to become the CEO of my health.
If you visit this website, or scroll through my Facebook fan page, or have been a fan for years, you know that I am the JUICE LADY. Yes, I juice religiously. Earth food is SKIN food. I’m not on any restricted diet, however, I have made some changes that have been suitable for my TEMPLE; changes that have eliminated my visits to the doctors.
Here are a few of the changes that I’ve made:
I cook from scratch without the use of preservatives and artificial ingredients.
I don’t use canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil or vegetable oils because those are highly processed and aren’t healthy choices (in my opinion).
I USE EXTRA VIRGIN COCONUT OIL, olive oil and avocado oil. I cook with coconut oil. I oil pull with coconut oil. I USE COCONUT OIL ON MY SKIN. I use COCONUT OIL on my newborn grandchild’s skin. I use COCONUT OIL in my hair. COCONUT OIL IS MY LOTION. I keep a jar in my bathroom.
I haven’t used any kind of lotions in over 4 years. No more oil of olay or bath and body works; none of the fancy smancy lotions that are loaded with toxic ingredients like parabens and formaldehyde. I’ve learned that topical ingredients affect your health as well. It takes only a few seconds for topical solutions to enter and be absorbed into your blood stream. Now that I know better, I’ve made modifications to my life and I do better.
Being healthy isn’t simply about the foods that we eat. It’s a lifestyle. We need to be mindful of the topical solutions we apply to our skin, such as, soaps, deodorants, shampoos, shaving cream, lotions and toothpaste. Your cosmetic products may be causing more harm than good.
Our skin is our largest external organ. As a precaution, I urge you to read the ingredients on your skin care products just as you would on the packaged food you purchase. Cosmetic products may contains sulfates, parabens, formaldehyde and other harmful carcinogens which may leave residue on the heart, lungs and brains. To decrease your chances of any chronic illness, use natural products that are paraben and sulfate free.
Organic, unrefined coconut oil is a staple in my household. I keep a jar in both the kitchen and bathroom. Again, it’s my lotion, moisturizer, hair oil and cooking oil (just to name a few).
What skin care regimen have you implemented in an effort to live a holistic lifestyle?
