Blueberry, Banana, Pineapple, Mango Smoothie

 

Blueberries are one of those memory boosting, sensational fruit, and whenever I’m not adding them to my pancakes or fruit compotes, I use them to make a healthy, d’luscious,  fulfilling smoothie. My usual habit is to  glance at  the fruit selections displayed on my kitchen counter, then my brain processes the information, and my usual reflex is my hand reaching out and grabbing a few of those amazingly “good for you” fruits.

I love mangoes, all kinds of mangoes. They are in season and just about everywhere,  bursting with tons of flavor. Being the food lover that I am, I literally call my friends and family to find out if they have or know of anyone, that has a mango tree. As a result, I usually have more mangoes than the average person needs. The only difference is that I don’t let them go to waste. I know exactly what to do with them.

Bananas, which is probably my most favorite fruit, because it is so versatile and the first fruit that I learned to cook with, are always on hand. I love bananas and make everything from banana breads to banana fritters, which is the first thing that I ever learned to cook. As soon as I complete this post, I will be making a dash to the kitchen and will whip me up a batch of banana fritters.

Pineapples seems to be one of those fruits that bears all year round. I say that because every single week I buy at least one pineapple. I have never tasted a sour pineapple and in my opinion, I  honestly don’t think sour pineapples exist. Pineapple adds that extra sweetness, along with the wonderful flavor that it so loves  to flaunt.

Smoothies are really simple to make. I think the hardest segment in preparing a smoothie, is pushing the button on the blender and watch it swirl. Seriously! Cutting up the fruits are easy and tasty too, because I get to eat a piece of each fruit as I cut and prep, before adding them to the blender.

If you hate fruits or are just not getting or eating enough fruits, this is a great way to get your fruit intake.

Blueberry, Banana, Pineapple, Mango Smoothie

Ingredients:
2 cups Blueberries
1 banana sliced
2 cups mango diced
2 cups of pineapple diced
1 cup of crushed ice
1/2 cup of almond milk
Brown sugar or sweetener of your choice (optional)

Instructions:
Add all ingredients in a blender
Blend until smooth
Pour into glasses and enjoy.
