They say there is usually some kind of deficiency when you crave a certain food. Well, I must have been deficient in okra, because I added it to just about every single meal that I had prepared this week, until the okra was all gone. And guess what? I went back to the supermarket and bought MORE okras. That’s another example of how I my ‘listen to my body.’
Why?
Because I am the primary care physician of my Temple. MY body knows what it needs. It’s an amazing machine capable of healing on its own. I can easily detect whenever there is an imbalance. I’m the first to notice when something is off. It’s my body and I know it better than anyone else.
I walk around diagnosing people (without them knowing that they’re being diagnosed). I have the ability to look at someone and determine if they are sick (inside). I have yet to develop the skill to identify the specific organ that may be congested, but I’m getting there. I’ve noticed health issues (on others) that were in plain sight; however those individuals seem to be oblivious to the fact that an issue may be developing. When I bring certain things to their attention, they get scared, which leaves me to believe that they may have also noticed the issue, but out of fear, they ignore it, until it really becomes a problem. There are others who are appreciative of the my efforts to inform them.
I’m not one to ignore my body. I like to be informed and get to the root of any issues before anything has a chance to evolve. Don’t ask me where I get the strength from. I just do. To me, it’s common sense. Why wait for certain health issues to evolve, when I have the power to nip it in the bud and stop it in it’s track with healing foods, like okras.
Okras doesn’t get much ratings but believe me, it’s a powerhouse. I love those lady fingers and even though I enjoy them cooked and slimy, I do prefer them in their almost raw, crunchy state, which boost the nutritional value.
Soups are nourishing. Ever wondered why your mom or grandma always made soup whenever you were sick? Ever wondered how fast the recovery time was when your drank a warm bowl of healing soup, loaded with all kinds of vegetables? There is no denying, there is definitely something special about soup. If you have been paying close attention to my soups, you may have noticed the heartiness, stew like consistency. That’s because I load it with everything but the kitchen sink and they’re usually inspired by ingredients that I have on hand. And since I had all those okras, it was an easy decision.
Doesn’t this chicken vegetable soup with okras look absolutely d’luscious?
