A friend once told me that every meal prepared in my home looks like Sunday dinner. That’s because I refuse to wait until Sundays to cook something extravagant. Each day that I’m awakened by God is a special day/occasion and so I celebrate life and food. I eat what I want to eat, when I want to eat it Every now and then I get the urge for some steak and mashed potatoes. Yummy!
I’m aware of red meat and it’s effects on the body and I choose to eat it in moderation. I’m still working on that. There are times when I just don’t care for meat at all. I go through that phase at least one week out of every month. I should probably completely eliminate red meat from my diet but I’m still having a love affair….in moderation. My rational is that I juice regularly which detoxes my Temple, hence balancing out the equation. Call me crazy but it works ….for me. Until I’ve conditioned my mind against red meat, I will continue to enjoy it.
Steaks combined with ‘any kinda way potatoes’ is comfort food at its best. I buy lots of potatoes and they disappear pretty quickly. Steaks never get wasted in my household. I usually cook more than enough and have left overs that serves as double duty, which we devour use on toasty sandwiches. The green marinade on my T-bone steaks is the marinade from heavens. I get into my moods where I may crave a special flavoring/seasoning on my meat and fish, and at other times I simply prefer the taste of the meat with just a little sea salt/himalayan salt and pepper. The foodies in my house wanted bell peppers and onions too. So the queen of the kitchen delivered. I should have taken a plated photo but this was one of my lazy days and T-Bone steaks grills without effort. My son D’Angelo started up the fire and in no time dinner was served.
