Before I became aware of all the superficial and artificial ingredients that ladens most of the processed food that we consume, I used to eat all that junk too. Yes I did. I didn’t know any better because I had no one to educate me. I wasn’t a 100% food from the earth diva. Now that my mind has been renewed and I’ve acquired enough knowledge (and is still learning), I have changed my eating habits and have eliminated a ton load of ingredients from my pantry and my body.
My rule of thumb: if you can’t pronounce it…don’t eat it.
Nowadays, I read the label on everything! Call me crazy, I don’t care. I’ll be out and about and become super hungry, and still refuse to buy food on the street. Most times I may have a snack which is usually a fruit or a mixture of nuts, but If I’m in a hurry, or forget my snack, then I’ll just have to wait until I get home and fix myself something to eat. Yes, I’d rather starve.
Some may say that I’m getting a little carried away with this healthy thing, but my body never lies. I’ve changed my eating habits to keep endometriosis/adenomyosis at bay and out of my way. I used to be bed ridden for 7 days each month, but not anymore. Nowadays, I may be cranky and uncomfortable for one day, then I’m back to normal. How do I do it? I’m healing myself with natural foods. It makes me feel better. I overindulge in fruits and veggies and I have noticed the difference. I really don’t need any scientific research to explain to me, what my body has already revealed. I know what foods aggravates or exacerbates my pain, and avoid those as much as possible. I don’t deprive myself of anything that I desire. I’m not on any specific diet. I DON’T diet period. I don’t believe in eliminating a certain food group from my diet either. I do believe in moderation. I’m not a vegetarian, however natural fruits and vegetables make up a huge portion of my diet. I juice like crazy and it feels damn good.
The photo above is indeed my kitchen aka my sanctuary. Those fruits are my fruits and yes the juicer belongs to me. Yes I am for real, as real as I love real foods. I do buy lots of produce and enjoy juicing and creating all types of juices. Produce are my vitamins. I don’t need multivitamins from a bottle. God has given me a bountiful of vitamins from the earth, with absolutely no side effects or addictions. I am ever so grateful!
