“You know what Denise, I think your baddest and most awesome dishes are seafood,” says my cousin Sandra. “Behold!”
And here I am thinking that I’m simply tweaking a few Caribbean dishes, when in reality seafood should be highlighted as my specialty. They say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Now that my attention to detail has been critiqued, I think Sandra may be on to something here.
My scrumptious shrimp salad is obviously my idea of good food fast. Shrimp and vegetables are tactfully displayed on a platter, compelling even those allergic to seafood to indulge in it’s simplicity. Shrimp is a staple in my home and is eaten regularly, therefore I have no choice but to be creative because I loathe boring, unflattering, colorless food. How can you tell if a dish is Ange’luscious? If it isn’t colorful and visually appealing, then it doesn’t represent Ang’eluscious.
If you honestly don’t want to share your food with me; all you have to do is cook something dull and I’ll refuse in a heartbeat and wont be shy about it either. Add a speck of color and notice how quickly my attitude changes. I eat with my eyes first and I’m impressed by colors (not artificial colors). Colors indicates that vegetables are present. I’m fascinated by gorgeous looking dishes. They say do unto others as you would have them do unto you. So why would I serve you bland food. I practice what I preach. Expectations are set high. You won’t be disappointed.
