When I come….I “comes” correct!!!! Burgers ain’t never been this good! Look at this here! I should just kiss myself!
Damn I’m happy I made these burgers! Thanks to my son D’Angelo. For the last two weeks he has been demanding barbecue ribs, burgers and mac and cheese. I did purchase the ribs and had to return it to the store. Thank God I had decided to marinate it the same day….and OMG, the odor was so offensive! I quickly rewrapped, returned it and got a full refund. It was the first time I was buying that brand too. No more of that for me. I will stick the cuts that I usually buy: the Publix Supermarket or BJs Wholesale cuts. Nice, fresh and smelling good!
Anyway, D’Angelo thinks he is the master of the grill now. He has somewhat mastered the art of starting the fire. I need all the help I can get anyway, and that was one less thing to do. He even makes hot dogs on the grill this weekend for his friends. He is just like his mommy; always trying to make people feel at home. Sometime I think he is too much of a pleaser, but then again, that’s another “mommy trait.” What can I say; like mother…like son.
I thought of making hamburger slides with crusty rolls, but the rolls were way too tiny for the size of the burgers. It just wouldn’t look right. The ciabatta rolls at BJs Wholesale were too small, so I would pursue my next endeavor at Publix supermarket. They would definitely have different varieties of ciabatta rolls…and I was very successful at finding the last two “cheese” ciabatta. My kids can eat the regular hamburger buns that I had bought until they are all gone. I am not a fan of the normal and customary white hamburger rolls or white bread. I may need to read the ingredients to see what it entails, partly because whenever I eat it, it gives me a funny feeling inside. Some factors that I have taken into consideration is that, I rarely eat white bread. I have to do some research on that, at a later date.
Now I am not a health fanatic. I consider myself a food enthusiast, who aspires to eat and live a healthier lifestyle. Yes, my diet consist of about 60-70 percent fruits and vegetables (foods from the earth). Yes I am always blending up a storm: I LOVE NATURAL JUICES. I don’t diet. Never have and hope and pray to God that I never ever will have to. Food is just too darn good! I almost always eat a balanced meal. A perfect example is this burger. It’s a burger but it is a well rounded balanced burger. You can call me weird for adding baby bella mushrooms, vidalia onions and bell peppers on my burger and vidalia onion vinaigrette instead of using ketchup. I’d rather not use ketchup on my burgers, except for the rare occasions when I feel like it, and still then, it may just be a dollop.
I’m a vidalia onion vinaigrette diva. It is my go-to sauce for almost everything. I tell ya….dijon mustard and honey is the bomb! Real talk….It’s sweet and tangy and has the perfect balance. It’s waaaay better than ketchup.
